AuctionBuyers — Privacy Policy

Provider: AuctionBuyers ("AuctionBuyers," "we," "us," or "our") Site: auctionbuyers.com (the "Site") Effective date: August 22, 2026 Last updated: August 22, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information AuctionBuyers collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers two distinct kinds of information: (1) public-records data displayed on the Site (property auction and foreclosure records), and (2) information about you, a visitor.

1. Public-records data displayed on the Site

The property, auction, case, and party information shown on the Site (addresses, sale dates, case numbers, plaintiff/defendant names, and similar) is derived from public records and public notices — court dockets, sheriff and trustee sale notices, and other official government publications. We obtain this data from a third-party data provider that aggregates it from those official sources. It is not information you gave us, and we display it because of its status as public record.

We do not enrich these records with non-public personal information about the people named in them.

2. Information we collect from visitors

What we collect:

  • Account information. If you create an account, we collect the information you provide — such as your email address, saved searches, and alert preferences — to operate your account and send the alerts you request.
  • Payment information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is handled by our payment processor; we do not store your full card number ourselves.
  • Server logs. Like nearly every website, our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically records standard request logs: IP address, user-agent (browser/device type), the pages requested, referrer, and timestamps. We use these solely for operating, securing, debugging, and capacity-planning the Site.
  • First-party product analytics. We record coarse, anonymous interaction events on our own servers — for example, that a listing page or a state/county page was viewed, or that a search was run — to understand which pages and searches are useful. These events carry no cookie, no visitor identifier, and no IP address; they cannot be tied back to a specific visitor.
  • Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand traffic patterns (pages viewed, approximate location, device type, and similar). Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to distinguish visitors and sessions, and the data it collects is processed by Google subject to Google's Privacy Policy. We do not use Google Analytics for advertising, and we do not use it to build a profile of you for any purpose beyond understanding aggregate site usage.
  • Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights. We use these tools, provided by our hosting company, to measure page-load performance and aggregate visit counts. Both are cookieless by design and do not collect any information that identifies you individually.
  • Map and photo services. Listing pages and search-results maps load imagery and map tiles from Google (Street View and Google Maps, on listing detail pages) and from MapTiler (the interactive results map). Loading these means your browser makes a direct request to that provider, which will receive your IP address as an ordinary consequence of serving the image or tile; each provider's use of that request is governed by its own privacy policy, not this one.
  • Security monitoring. Your browser automatically reports certain security-policy violations to our own servers (a standard web-security mechanism). These reports contain a URL and a technical category, not information that identifies you.

3. Cookies

Google Analytics, described in Section 2, sets cookies to distinguish visitors and sessions. Beyond that, we use only cookies strictly necessary for the Site to function (for example, cookies our hosting/framework may set for essential operation). We do not use advertising or cross-site retargeting cookies of our own, and we do not use cookies to build a marketing profile of you. If that changes, we will update this policy.

4. How we use visitor information

  • To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site;
  • To understand which pages and searches are useful, in the aggregate;
  • To diagnose problems and prevent abuse (rate-limiting, blocking malicious traffic);
  • To comply with law.

We do not sell visitor information, and we do not use it to advertise to you.

5. We do not sell your personal information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising (as those terms are defined in the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended). Our use of Google Analytics for aggregate traffic measurement, described above, is not a sale or a share under that definition.

6. Sharing with service providers

We share visitor information only with the service providers that help us run the Site — our hosting provider (Vercel), our analytics providers (Google Analytics, Vercel Web Analytics), and our map/imagery providers (Google, MapTiler) — and only so they can provide those services to us. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the Site and its users.

7. Your privacy rights (California CCPA/CPRA, Connecticut CTDPA, and similar state laws)

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know/access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, and to be free from discrimination for exercising those rights.

To make a privacy request, email info@auctionbuyers.com with the subject "Privacy request." We will ask for enough information to verify your identity, and we will respond within the time required by applicable law (generally 45 days, with one 45-day extension where the law allows it). If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision, and we will explain the outcome within the time applicable law requires.

Note: because we collect so little visitor information today (server logs, cookieless first-party events, and Google Analytics' own records), there is often little for us to access or delete beyond what Google Analytics itself holds — for that data, you can also use Google's own controls or your browser's cookie settings.

8. Removal requests for public-records listings

If you are named in a listing displayed on the Site and want it removed or suppressed, please note: we display data supplied by an upstream data provider, and removals and suppressions happen at the data source. Our provider processes removal/suppression requests against the underlying records; once a record is suppressed upstream, it disappears from or is anonymized on the Site automatically. To start a removal request, email info@auctionbuyers.com with the subject "Removal request" and the listing link. We will forward the request to the data provider and let you know the outcome, generally within 10 business days.

9. Data retention

Server logs are retained only for the limited operational period our hosting provider's defaults allow. First-party product-analytics events are retained for internal use and are not tied to a visitor identity. Public-records listing data is retained and refreshed per our data provider; it is not "your data held by us" in the account sense. If you have an account, we retain your account information for as long as the account is active; if you delete your account, we delete or anonymize that information within a reasonable period, except where we must keep it to comply with law.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the amount of visitor data we handle: encrypted transport (HTTPS) everywhere, a Content-Security-Policy that restricts what a page can load and from where, and access controls on our infrastructure and data-storage providers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide reasonable notice on the Site.
